Crawlspace Encapsulation Project
Challenge
This Topeka, KS split-level home built over 50 years ago was suffering from an Unconditioned Crawlspace that had standing water, years of Mold Growth and an Insufficient Drainage system/Foundation Air Sealing, which in turn was causing a musty smell throughout a majority of the home.
The Project Goal was to convert the Crawlspace into a Conditioned Space that would eliminate the moisture that was causing Mold Growth and the prevalent unpleasant musty smell within the home.
Solution
Upon a thorough assessment of the home's Crawlspace, our Home Comfort & Energy Efficiency Specialist (Clint Livingston), had recommended one of our comprehensive Crawlspace Encapsulation packages to properly address and resolve the issues that plagued the homeowners for years.
This is brief outline of the scope of work included:
1. Remove and Dispose of Existing Moldy/Damaged Batt Insulation from Crawlspace Ceiling
2. Apply Mold Removal Treatment Solution to Crawlspace Ceiling and Walls
3. Install Crawlspace Irrigation Drainage system w/Sump Pump
4. Install Vapor Encapsulation Barrier to Crawlspace Floor and Walls
5. Install Closed Cell Spray Foam to Crawlspace Walls and Rim Joists
Since the completion of Green Factor Insulation's Crawlspace Encapsulation package, the home owner has sung many praises regarding the work completed.
